Whether you love shopping or the dancefloor - we have a great nightlife with plenty of bars and clubs playing all kinds of music. Broad Street is a popular choice for students and is located right in the city centre.

In Birmingham, you’ve got plenty of options whether a comedy show at the Glee Club, a show at the Hippodrome Theatre, or a rare film at the Electric Cinema. For something more futuristic, try a few rounds of virtual reality games or immersion pods at Otherworld VR Birmingham. 

There are lots of live music and concert venues such as the 02 Academy, Symphony Hall, and Hockley Social Club as well as various open mic nights. The Custard Factory is also home to much creative talent, hosting festivals, gigs and poetry nights.

Library of Birmingham  

The Library of Birmingham is the second-largest Library in Europe and the largest in the UK. It opened in 2013 and cost over £180 million to build.  

The library contains a Shakespeare Memorial room and is a popular stop on Birmingham City walking tours. A 10-minute walk from Quay Place, students can also benefit from using its facilities.

Relax and unwind in one of the many local parks including the Botanical Gardens, Licky Hills Edgbaston reservoir.
