Where We're Based
The Academy of Sport services are currently based at our South West Wales campuses. However, if there are high performance student athletes that could represent the University at the BUCS championships, please contact the academy. There may be the option of accessing training programmes, nutrition advice and further support remotely, depending on the chosen sport.

Get professional-level sports specific coaching, strength and conditioning training, as well as advice on nutrition, diet and lifestyle. You’ll train in brand-new gym facilities, fully kitted out with industry-leading equipment and enjoy regular opportunities to compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) leagues, events and championships. Our experienced staff and coaching professionals are on hand to help you thrive and succeed in the world of sport.

Men’s and Women’s Football, Men’s and Women’s Rugby, and Women’s Netball are the focus team sports of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Academy of Sport. We also cater for individual performers in sports like athletics, cycling, swimming and triathlon.

What we offer
The Academy of Sport provide this performance pathway in the following focus sports; Rugby - Male & Female, Football - Male & Female, Netball - Female and Individual Sports - Male & Female.
All Academy Student Athletes in these pathways will access; Coaching, Strength and conditioning, Nutrition and diet advice, Sport science, Sport therapy, Performance Analysis and Lifestyle management.
We support and work with the following Student Union Sports clubs; ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Rugby Club, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Football, Club ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, Netball Club, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Individual Sports Club.
These clubs who compete in the BUCS leagues, cups, events and championships. Student athletes in these clubs will typically have 2/3 dedicated sports sessions, two strength & conditioning sessions and one analysis session per week alongside their studies, outside club commitments and social opportunities.
