Student support services at a university play a pivotal role in ensuring that students have a fulfilling and successful academic journey. Our Student Hwb is designed to be the first point of contact to provide a comprehensive information service on all student-related matters.
Our professional and experienced student services team are on hand to give you the information, advice, guidance and support to help you get the most from your university experience – and get past any bumps along the way. From academic support that provides guidance on enrolment and modules to student services that offer emotional and mental health support to students.
Student Services
University life is an amazing opportunity to learn new things and discover yourself, but it can come with some challenges. Our Student Support services offer a professional support service providing high quality information, advice, guidance, practical and emotional support to enable all students to reach their full potential.
The Student Services department is a collection of practical professional services designed to enable and support all our students to reach their full potential. Through our services, students can access high-quality information, advice, guidance, opportunities, and support on wellbeing support, money support, learning support, careers and safeguarding.
Wellbeing Support
You may be coming to university with a diagnosed mental health condition or develop difficulties with your mental health or wellbeing whilst you are studying.
Whether you are experiencing a short term issue with stress, a longer lasting complex issue, or if you are struggling but are not sure what to do then the Wellbeing Service is here to support you. You can access our free service at any time during your studies.
We have a range of free, professional, student-focused and confidential services which can work with you to better understand what you are experiencing and help you decide how you want to manage the impact on your studies
Learning Support
Our Learning Support team are on hand to support your studies. All students can access our Study Skills sessions and book a slot to work one-on-one with our study skills team.
We also provide comprehensive academic support for Disabled Students. Our team will support students in applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), including access to assessment and diagnosis for Specific Learning Difference (SpLD) where required. Our professional qualified team of Non-Medical Helpers are on hand to work with students with a diagnosis to support their learning and help them to achieve their potential.
Regardless of DSA status, the Learning Support team are on hand to support students through unforeseen circumstances and difficult times which have impacted their studies. Students can seek support from the team and can apply for Extenuating Circumstances where appropriate.
Careers Services
Ready to hit the ground running with your goals firmly in sight? Whether you’ve got your heart set on further study, a high-flying career on even starting your own business we’ll support you as you chase your dreams.
And if you’re not sure what you want to do yet, our experienced and friendly Careers Advisers will give you the advice and guidance you need to find your path.
Through one-to-one appointments, or drop-in sessions, you’ll get the chance to identify your natural strengths and skill sets, find out more about effective job searching, learn how to write effective CVs, sharpen up your interview skills and apply for graduate roles. We’ll also help you with personal statements and applications for postgraduate study.
As well as our Careers Advisers, you’ll have access to MyCareer, the University’s online careers platform, brought to you in partnership with Abintegro. With specialist tools like a jobs board, career planner, automated CV360 checker, Interview 360 and more, you can start preparing for your future on your own terms.

The Careers Service organises employer webinars and careers fairs on each campus throughout the academic year.
