What was your favourite thing about Swansea campus?

The IQ building, it’s modern with many ‘chill-out’ spaces, providing comfort during stressful times. The cafeterias were always lively with familiar faces – whether peers, lecturers, or friendly staff. The welcoming environment made it easy to relax and connect. I loved the state-of-the-art engineering equipment and often spent free periods exploring the labs, fascinated by the technology in action.

Why did you choose ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø?

In sixth form, I was unsure about my future and career path, fluctuating between fields like criminology, nursing, and veterinary science. My teacher suggested ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for its blend of theory and practical experience. The hands-on learning approach, combined with lecturers who had real industry experience, made ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø the perfect choice for me.

What did you enjoy outside your studies?

To maintain my mental and physical health, I joined Swansea Sirens at Swansea University. It was great to collaborate with Swansea University for sports while studying my chosen course. I also nurtured my side hustle, which has since grown into two successful businesses.

What are you doing now, how did you get to where you are and how has your course helped you in your career?

After my BEng, I pursued a master’s in Computer Science to stay current with technological advancements. Now nearing the end of my master’s, I’ve accepted a graduate role in sales at City Science. Surprisingly, this role combines my engineering, IT, marketing, and business skills from both studies and entrepreneurship, making it an unexpected yet perfect fit for my career.

What was your favourite thing about your course?

The lecturers’ passion and real-world industry insights were invaluable. They shared stories – funny, challenging, happy, and sad – that provided a deep understanding of the profession. A field trip to CAE, organised by my lecturer, was a highlight. It was not only educational but also inspired my dissertation on sustainability, blending theory with practical experience and encouraging personal growth and creative thinking.

Would you recommend ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and why?

I would recommend ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for those who value smaller class sizes and direct interaction with lecturers. The university offers ample opportunities for questions and discussions, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. There’s also strong support for securing internships.
